An adapted version of the Three Words Three Shapes Test (3W3S) to old Brazilian adults

Background An adapted version of the Three Words Shapes Test (3W3S) is conducted for old Brazilian adults. This study describes translation, back-translation, and pilot 3W3S-Br senior adults' adaptation process. Method The 3W3S administration scoring procedures were translated to Portuguese by three independent translators. Concomitantly, a panel specialists selected 18 abstract, regular nouns with same amount letters original format. words must have had medium high frequency in Portuguese. They should also relate semantically phonetically ones. A final was established back-translated. then applied 24 participants, divided into two groups, according forms, 12 members each (Form (FA) Form B (FB)). Inclusion criteria age between 60-80 years absence depression, cognitive functional impairment. has 5 conditions: 1) Copy (C); 2) Incidental Recall (IR); 3) Learning Trials total (LT), presented attempts; 4) Delayed (DR); 5) Recognition (R). Correlations verified Pearson coefficient differences groups compared Mann-Whitney test. analysis performed SPSS 28.0 or Windows. Result There no significant associations (mean: 67±5), education (11±5), sex(42%female) all conditions this instrument (p<0,05). Significant positive demonstrated MMSE C (r = 0,481), LT 0,455), DR 0,407), R 0,773). comparison alternate forms did not reveal test (p < 0,05). show age, education, gender, occurence COVID-19 infection. Conclusion Age, sex correlate 3W3S-Br, whereas MEEM correlations most its conditions.
